Electric Power Systems Controls Engineer − Kyle, TX

The Systems Controls Engineer for Battery Energy Storage System also functions as project engineer. He or she works with customers, utilities, project partners, as well as other Xtreme Power personnel to define the system and then implement the electrical, mechanical and software control systems that make up the product. We need an experienced engineer with a thorough and detailed understanding of a wide variety of power systems and issues.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Electric power systems and equipment operation and control.
- Protective relay methodology.
- Three phase grid-tie inverters.
- Battery-charging circuitry.
- Battery technology.
- Experience writing specifications.
- Adequate understanding of alternate energy technologies.
- Experience modeling and simulating Power Systems, PSIM software desirable.
- Schematic capture software.
- LabView software, desirable.
- MatLab software, desirable.
- SCADA.
- Wind Power management.
- Solar Power management.
Qualifications / Experience:
The job opportunity is for an advanced technical position. The position does not directly manage people, but does lead projects, so strong leadership and team skills are important. Applicant’s background requires a B.S. engineering degree, MSEE preferred, with 15+ years of relevant work experience.
